On Friday, December 14, 21 athletes braved the heat of the afternoon and broke 38 personal bests and 11 new records in the final event for the year.
The following records are inaugural records for our walks program, congratulations to these athletes: U8 Chase Sochacki 6:07:04s, 700m walk; U9 Xavier Stewart 6:01:03s 700m walk; U10 Oliver Stewart 10:35:88s 1100m walk; U11 Gemma Buckle 8:36:05s 1100m walk; U12 Nina Bercene 11:42:10s 1500m walk; U13 Tahlia Reichelt 11:00:82s 1500m walk; U13 Sam Kippin 11:32:88s 1500m walk; U14 T’Leah Wood 11:00:42s 1500m walk.
Well done to all athletes in doing the walk, each time you participate in it you will strive to get your technique better.
The following athletes broke current centre records this week: U9 Xavier Stewart continuing to improve his time in 200m with 32:20s (previous 32:53s); U11 Noah Stewart equalled the high jump record with a jump of 1.10m; Chloe Broadbent broke her own record in shot put with a throw of 8.40m ( previous 8.38m).
Congratulations to Oliver and Noah Stewart for breaking three PBs and to Tahlia Reichelt and Isobel Kippin for breaking four PBs.
Little Athletics will recommence on January 30 for training and Febuary 1 for our first competition of the year.
