Moving into the New Year, I am looking forward to seeing the South West continue to grow and prosper.
In 2019 we will see some significant jobs growth opportunities coming to fruition here in the South West.
The environmental green light has recently been given by the McGowan Government for the construction of the largest lithium processing plant in WA.
The Albemarle Lithium plant will see 1000 jobs for the South West in its construction and operation.
This will complement the multimillion dollar expansion of the Greenbushes Lithium mine.
We will also see bright employment prospects with the expansion of the Eaton Shopping Precinct and the Shire of Dardanup library and building developments to the tune of $14.5 million.
Additionally, in my capacity as Minister for Sport and Recreation I have committed to job creation and investment with work progressing on the $4 million upgrade to Hay Park in Bunbury.
As we head into the New Year and the economy picks up throughout the South West, we will experience an improvement in confidence too.
The beginning of a new year can be a great time to reflect on what we have achieved both personally and as a community.
It can also be important to approach it as a new beginning for some aspects in life, whether that be forgiving, moving on or letting go.
I wish you all the best in 2019 and from my family to yours, have a fantastic New Year!
