Places like Stockton Lake, Potters Gorge and Honeymoon Pool were buzzing with campers from all over the state.
Camper Sarah Epere said her and her family often travel from Capel to camp at Stockton Lake.
“We came down just after Christmas and thought we would just try our luck to see if we could get a spot,” she said.
“The main reason we come is because we can take the dog, it’s cost effective, you’re not really boxed in and it’s a beautiful spot. It’s great for the kids, it’s safe and it’s close to town. We have fallen in love with Collie a little bit more by staying here.”
Camper Lorrie Burnett said him and his family travel all the way from Northam every year to spend a couple of weeks at Stockton Lake.
“We choose to come here because of the lake and the town of Collie. It’s a great spot to go camping, swimming and kayaking,” he said.
