On Saturday, February 9, fur babies big and small will visit PETstock Bunbury in the hope of finding new owners and new homes.
The day is run as part of the fifth annual National Pet Adoption Day.
PETstock Bunbury manager Kassie White said people should come along to find their forever friend.
“There will be lots of cats, dogs and hopefully some rabbits on the day, up for adoption,” she said.
“Last year was a fantastic success, so we’re hoping to make this year even better.”
SAFE Bunbury fundraising coordinator Lisa Townsend said the day gave cats and dogs a better chance of finding a new home.
“With adopting cats and dogs from SAFE Bunbury you’re giving them a second chance of happiness, that they wouldn’t have had if they end up at the pound,” she said.
“These dogs and cats are so in need of a new home – also when you’re adopting from us you get all of the vet work included as well so it’s a win-win situation for both the resuce animal and the new owners.
“Come down and have a look on the day, speak to some of the volunteers and see what we have to offer.
“With SAFE Bunbury we also offer a two-week trial period so if someone wasn’t sure and they wanted to take the animal on a trial.”
Ms Townsend said it was wonderful to have the support of PETstock.
“We’ve had a successful partnership for many years now and it’s worked well for both of us,” she said.
“We’ve had so many successful adoption days down here, last year we had 38 cats adopted in four hours.”
