To commemorate their twentieth anniversary the Bunbury Men of Song recorded and released a new album titled Celebration late last year.
The album includes seven tracks, recorded by James Newhouse in August and released in December.
Bunbury Men of Song accompanist Greg Ross said the songs selected were ones the choir members enjoyed and would give people a snapshot of the songs they regularly sung.
“This is the third CD the choir has done and we wanted to get a chance to have a song with the Bunbury Men of Song boys as well,” he said.
The album includes a Queen medley and Hakuna Mungu – a traditional Swahili song recorded acapela.
Bass section leader Ash Davis said recording was a new experience for him but he looked forward to doing it again.
“The album is also our gift to get the boys interested in singing and teaching them that it’s ok to want to sing and be part of a choir and that it’s a good thing to be part of,” he said.
