There was a lot going on around the Collie region at the time.
The Bunbury National Tv Station officially opened to serve Bunbury, Collie and surrounding areas.
It was the first country television station in Western Australia.
It was opened by Gordon Freeth, who was the Minister for Shipping and Transport at the time.
Collie's Margaret Daniels went to represent Collie in the 1965 Miss Australia Quest.
