South West police are investigating an attempted shoplifting incident from last month.

According to WA Police, a female suspect entered Woolworths, Dalyellup around 11.20am on Monday, February 11.

Staff members confronted the woman at the main entrance, after she attempted to leave the store.

Woolworths staff then recovered $98.25 in stolen groceries.

Bunbury Police Officer In Charge Senior Sergeant Mal Jones said Bunbury Police strived to combat shoplifting.

"Police work hard with retailers to reduce retail theft. With CCTV so prevalent, offenders can expect to be identified and charged accordingly," he said.

"In the end, all consumers end up paying for this type of crime."

Police have released footage of one person whom may be able to assist with inquiries.

Anyone with information on stealing/shoplifting offences has been urged to contact Bunbury police 9722 2111 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
