An Eaton family are desperately searching for two dogs stolen from their residence earlier this month.
The two minischnauzers, Huffy (black and grey fur) and Moby (white), were taken from Glenda and Olivia Howes' home in the afternoon of Sunday, April 14.
According to Glenda and Olivia, the culprits opened the back gate and broke in through the back door before leaving with the dogs. Nothing else was taken/damaged in the incident.
Moby requires Parvo vaccinations and repairs to an umbilical hernia.
Both dogs mean the world to Olivia, who suffers from severe social anxiety.
After adopting the dogs, Olivia's well-being and level of confidence had improved dramatically.
"I am not great at socialising with people, I never have been. Having dogs around the house helped a lot," Olivia said.
Glenda said she and her daughter were left devastated by the ordeal.
"Recently, Olivia has been getting out and doing some volunteer work. She was also looking at going back to university," Mrs Howes said.
"Since the incident, her mental health has taken a huge step back.
"The dogs were great support animals, and now they're both gone.
"They are very distinctive - Huffy is about two-thirds the size of a regular minischnauzer.
"I could pick them both out in a line-up, as they make for an unusual combination."
Searching for answers, the Howes have contacted police, rangers, pet stores, and local dog groups.
Since taking to social media, Glenda and Olivia have been inundated with support from community members.
People with information about the dogs' whereabouts have been urged to contact Glenda and Olivia on 0427889282.
