South-West community members will wear orange on May 22, in support of the region's State Emergency Services personnel.
In 2019, SES is celebrating 60 years of providing help to people across Western Australia.
SES volunteers risk everything to respond to fires, storms, cyclones, and search and rescue missions.
Supported by the Department of Fire and Emergency Services, Wear Orange Wednesday acknowledges the extraordinary efforts of WA's 2000 volunteers.
This Wednesday, the Shire of Capel is encouraging all employees to wear orange and take part in morning tea.
The shire recently sent 'Thank You' letters to the Bunbury and Busselton SES units.
"The Shire of Capel wants to recognise the fantastic support of the Bunbury and Busselton units," Shire chief executive officer Ian McCabe said.
"We believe they are best resourced and located to service the district at this time."
Within the past 18 months, South-West SES personnel have spent 2,491 hours responding to 121 incidents.
Bunbury SES local manager Chris Widmer thanked all of the volunteers for their time and assistance.
