The Bunbury Malayalee Association - Indian Group's tug of war team has gone from strength to strength over the past few months.
On May 11, the BMA Bunbury Challengers travelled up the coast to compete in this year's Joondalup Malayalee Association Championships.
The team won the title and $1001 in prize money, sponsored by Punnackal Financial Services Pty Ltd.
Enjoying the event, City of Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts presented the Challengers with the trophy and cheque.
Ms Roberts also informed City of Bunbury Mayor Gary Brennan of the team's incredible achievements.
The Challengers have now claimed two wins from two competitions.
Last November, they secured the 2018 Knanaya Association of Western Australia - All Australia Tug of War title, at Harrisdale Pavilion.
BMA Bunbury Challengers team member Anoop Puthukudy said the team completed intense physical training, prior to both events.
He said they were all immensely proud of their achievements.
"It felt great to win. Our training and dedication has really paid off," he said.
"We've put together an amazing team."
The team is now preparing for the next championship event in September.
