Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC):
The DFC was a third-level military decoration awarded to Air Force personnel of commissioned rank, for an "act or acts of valour, courage or devotion to duty whilst flying in active operations against the enemy".
WW2 there were two DFC awarded to RAAF servicemen from Collie: Flight Lieutenant RAAF Albert George McKENZIE DFC; Flying Officer RAAF John Joseph O'DONNELL DFC.
Vietnam War there was one DFC awarded to a RAN serviceman from Collie: 02089 Lieutenant RAN James Collier BUCHANAN DFC.
Croix de Guerre:
The Croix de Guerre (English translation: Cross of War) is a military decoration of France.
During WWI and WWII the decoration was commonly bestowed to foreign military forces allied to France for acts of heroism involving combat with the enemy.
WW1 there was one Croix de Guerre awarded to a serviceman from Collie: 853 CSM 52nd Bn Alexander Wilton O'NEILL Croix de Guerre.
Romanian Croix De Virtue Militara (2nd Class):
The Military Virtue Medal (Romanian: Medalia "Virtutea Militara") is a military decoration awarded for acts of bravery.
The award can be made to foreign military forces allied to Romania.
The medal had two classes, the first class (in gold) being awarded to officers, and the second class (in silver) to non commissioned officers and enlisted ranks.
WW1 there was one Romanian Croix de Virtue Militara (2nd class) made to a serviceman from Collie: 1836 BSM 10th Field Artillery Brigade William Charles Edward SMITH Romanian Croix de Virtue Militara (2nd Class).
Meritorious Service Medal (MSM):
The MSM was initially awarded as a means of formally recognising long military service or given acts of merit.
From 1916 it was also awarded for acts of gallantry or meritorious conduct when not in the face of the enemy.
WW1 there were four MSM awards to servicemen from Collie: 3925 Driver 14th Field Artillery Brigade Joseph HYMAN MSM; 1970 L/Sgt 11th Bn Edward Frederick KOHLER
