Collie's famous bike trails have been put on show in Perth as part of the #shoWcAse in Pixels competition.
Formerly known as Banners in the Terrace, the digital exhibition will be comprised of banners from all over the state, and will be displayed on the 45m tower at Yagan Square.
Creator of the piece, local photographer and artist Donald Cook, said he was excited to see his art on show on such a large scale.
"It's a bit overwhelming to see the size of it, but I'm absolutely stoked about it," he said. "With this piece I wanted to showcase the new investment Collie and the West Australian Government has put into mountain biking trails around the Collie region, boosting our profile as a WA adventure ground."
Mr Cook said he created the piece by overlaying a recent mountain biking event photo he had taken with various brush strokes on Photoshop to create a mix of digital and tradition art elements.
"I think Collie has been a hidden gem for a long time. When the mining industry boomed, tourism was a bit neglected and now, with the new shire, they're really starting to promote the area and I'm happy to be a part of that through this piece," he said.
"I moved here 22 years ago knowing nothing about Collie, thinking it was just another mining town. But once I came over the hill, all I could think of was how beautiful it is and my family and I have been here ever since."
The Shire of Collie and State Government have been working together in recent years to transform Collie into a trail town after $300,000 was committed to complete the fourth and final stage of the Collie River Trail.
The shire has identified mountain biking as a rapidly growing tourism area, and hopes it will bring visitors to town to spend money on local businesses and accommodation.
Traditionally, the annual artwork event was in the form of physical banners hung along St Georges and Adelaide Terrace, but it will now be in the central tourism hub of the metro area.
The piece will be on display with the other 79 entries at 12:44pm every day until August 11.
