Team Twente from the Netherlands continues to lead the World Solar Challenge with the cars nearing Alice Springs after two days of racing.

The team's RED E car passed through the third checkpoint at Barrow Creek on Monday afternoon and had covered more than 1200 kilometres since leaving Darwin on Sunday for the 3000-kilometre race to Adelaide.
Defending champions Vattenfall, also from the Netherlands, were in second spot in their NunaX car just minutes behind with Agoria from Belgium a close third.
Race data showed the top eight teams had all passed through the Barrow Creek checkpoint with the leading car averaging almost 90 km/h so far.
Other teams still in contention for a strong finish include Sonnenwagen from Germany, the University of Michigan and another Dutch group, Top Solar Racing.
The World Solar Challenge has been held biannually since 1987, promoting sustainability and boosting the NT and SA economies.
The leading cars in the 28-strong field could make it to Adelaide on Thursday or Friday, depending on weather conditions.
Some cloud and rain is forecast across SA for later this week, potentially slowing their progress.
With the smallest car in the challenge, organisers said Team Twente were showing plenty of heart so far to hold off NunaX.
The Vattenfall team came into this year's race as hot favourites with seven wins so far.
