Linda and Tony Miller made it back-to-back wins in Collie Tidy Towns Keeping Up Appearances Garden competition.
They have made the most of a difficult sloping site, strewn with rocks, to create an award winning garden which was named the winner of the Collie Community Bank Whole Garden section.
Their garden is a testament to hard work and good planning, with a range of plants from a formal rose garden to a rock wall brimming with succulents, and a whimsical newly established fairy garden.
Deputy shire president Cr Ian Miffling congratulated all the gardeners in this section.
Nancy Riley won the inaugural Garden Art section of the competition with her many beautifully painted recycled objects, and also finished second in the Whole Garden section. From a sunflower constructed from spades, discarded tools painted with native birds and wildflowers, rustic sculptures from the front of the garden to the back fence, Mrs Riley has a plethora of delightful artistic pieces scattered through her no-less beautiful living plants. First time entrant Frank Bernardi finished third in the Whole Garden section, with his garden, which is a blaze of colour, and a delight to passing walkers.
Michelle Cain was presented with an encouragement award for her beautiful garden.
Judge Steve Cruikshank commented on the magnificent display of roses in all gardens this year, and said that there was evidence of improvement in all the gardens he had seen in previous years.
Mr Cruikshank also commented on the extremely high standard of presentation of all the local schools in the Public Garden section.
Working on large areas which have heavy foot traffic, they still managed to create beautiful gardens which were a delight to the eye.
Our Community Garden won this section. In the Garden Art section, Julianne Headley and Rebecca Wood tied for second place, with Julie Barker in fourth place.
All of these gardeners made good use of recycled objects to give their gardens character and humour.
Di Davies took out the Small Garden award, and Viviana and Tony Kent won the Waterwise Garden section.
First time entrant Ginette Fischer won the Edible Garden section from Ian Moody. Two new entrants in the New Garden section took out the first two places, Eileen Pearce winning from Jessica Moulden.
A slide show of the gardens entered in the competition showed the high standard which prevailed.
Following the presentations, gardeners shared compliments and gardening tips while partaking of a delicious supper.
