The state government has allocated $340,000 in funding to the Bunbury Regional Art Gallery to support the gallery's activities and exhibitions for the next two years.
The funding, allocated by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, will ensure the preservation and promotion of the city's art collection and help deliver both local and touring exhibitions.
The gallery is the largest regional gallery in the state, home to more than 800 artworks with an estimated value of more than $2 million.
The space, owned by the City of Bunbury, consists of six exhibition spaces and hosts a range of workshops and artist talks.
City of Bunbury mayor Gary Brennan said the gallery was an integral part of the community and extended thanks to the state government for its support.
"Bunbury Regional Art Gallery is an integral part of our community adding to the vibrancy and culture of our city," he said.
"This funding will ensure Bunbury Regional Art Gallery can continue to support our local artists in their endeavours whilst also being able to host exclusive exhibitions which are always free to attend."
