A group of like-minded passionate people have united to form the Bunbury Writer's Group.
Bunbury author and 2020 writer in residence for Fellowship of Australian Writers WA Ben Mason said he always wanted a local group of writers.
"Being able to see our first anthology published has been a dream come true," he said.
The group meet on a fortnightly basis at Caf-fez to swap ideas, polish their skills and hang out with like minded company. There are more than two dozen amateur, keen-amateur, semi-professional and professional writers who collaborate in the group.
Their inaugural book, Death, Despair & Other Happy Endings is a collection of short stories, flash fiction, poems and plays.
The writing ranges from a loveable, scary fairy, to the joys of a Mother's embrace. From the despair of a broken heart, to the delights of a new found love and from the dark recesses of a killer's mind to the happiness in a turtle staying its course.
The group assure Bunbury that as the Edgar Allan Poesque raven on the cover would attest, there are certainly some dark and twisted stories in the hive mind of the Bunbury Writers Group. For more information, visit bookreality.com/project/bunbury-writers-group/
