WA Country Health Service - South West is proud to be associated with the Choose Respect campaign.
You may have noticed the Choose Respect logo on the uniforms of our 'Meet and Greet' volunteers at Bunbury Hospital which is one of the first ways you will see our support for this community campaign.
Partnering with Choose Respect is one of the important ways we are promoting a safe workplace for our volunteers and staff while also ensuring we provide a high standard of care to our patients and visitors.
South West Regional Director Kerry Winsor said she was delighted to see the positive response from staff to the campaign across the region.
"I'm proud of our association with this campaign and I look forward to the positive impact it can have on our health service across the South West," said Mrs Winsor. "We are committed to developing a respectful, caring and considerate environment across our health service," she said.
It's a simple but powerful message. So next time you visit Bunbury Hospital look out for the signage and make sure you Choose Respect!
WA Country Health Services
The recent Choose Respect Day was a wonderful example of how small things can make a big difference. The simple act of sharing a kind message was an uplifting experience for not only the receiver, but also for those giving.
Taking the time to stop and think about our own words and actions throughout the day, enabled many of us to realise that if we smile more, if we can consider others more, then it has a very positive effect on our own wellbeing as well.
We were delighted that so many schools, organisations, businesses and individuals carried out activities to "Show some care - and Share some kindness", including the greeters at the Bunbury Regional Hospital.
Hospitals are often a place of fear and trauma, times when we are not at our best. So to be greeted with care and kindness can mean so much, and a caring and calm atmosphere not only helps us, but also helps our health providers do their very best.
As we approach this very busy time of the year, please be encouraged to take the message from Choose Respect Day into our daily lives and know that what each of us do - matters.
Peter Rigden - Chairman, Bunbury Choose Respect.
