As 2019 comes to an end I encourage residents in the South West to have a safe and happy start to 2020.
I encourage people to stay safe on our roads during this holiday period.
We are fortunate to have many visitors to our part of the world during the holiday period so I encourage everyone to be patient with increased traffic and don't take any risks on our roads.
I also encourage people to take care when using our beaches and waterways over the summer.
Please make sure that children are always supervised and let people know where you will be if heading to the ocean or one of our rivers.
We also need to make sure that we are fire prepared, so make sure you have an up to date plan in case of bushfire, as fire is a constant threat here in the South West.
Please stay safe online, too.
I encourage you to make a New Year's resolution to regularly check your privacy settings on social media sites and keep up with changes which could put privacy at risk, especially with photo sharing.
Throughout 2019 I have been fortunate to be able to spend a lot of time in the Forrest electorate and have seen so much of the good work which is being done within our region.
A big thank you to the hundreds of volunteers who are the glue that keeps our communities across the South West together - particularly those in the emergency services sector.
Please stay safe as I look forward to seeing you in 2020.
