Foodbank WA have finally linked in with Collie after a local resident put their hand up to act as drop off point for the Australia-wide not for profit.
Foodbank is a not-for-profit organisation which sources food and groceries from farmers, manufacturers and retailers and distributing them through front line charities around the country to people in need.
In an effort to assist those affected by the unprecedented bushfire crisis across Australia, Foodbank WA will be creating 5000 hampers over January.
Collie resident Claire Hall said she offered her home as a collection point in an effort to do more for those not as fortunate as herself.
"Every little bit helps and because I can't get on a plane to jet off and help line others, I wanted to find a way to do my part,' she said.
"When the Collie fires happened we were able to use my car to transport volunteers who came into town and help and we donated a slushy machine to the incident control point, but we can't do that here so this is my little bit."
Collie Early Education Centre has also been set up as a drop off point.
