Thirteen young athletes made the trek to Margaret River to complete in the Annual Little Athletics Country Championships across January 17-19.
The athletes performed exceptionally well, bring home 25 medals and breaking 29 personal bests.
The results as follows - personal bests and medal winners:
Under 8 Flynn Darnell: Personal best in discus 13.15m and a bronze medal in shot put with a throw of 4.81m;
U8 Shane Harris Digney: Personal bests in 70m 13:46s, turbo javenlin 8.01m and 500m 2:12:00s;
U8 Billy Stewart: Personal bests in 60m hurdles 12:92s, shot put 4.40m and turbo javelin 13.95m, won silver in the turbo javelin;
U9 Blake Digney: Personal bests in 70m 11:59s, long jump 3.31m, 60m hurdles 12:27s and high jump 0.90m and won a bronze medal in the 70m;
U9 Devon Lackworthy-Darke: Personal best in turbo javelin with a throw of 17.26m, won a silver medal in the 700m walk in a time of 5:22:24s, silver in turbo javelin and bronze in shot put with a throw of 4.96m;
Lucas Stewart: Personal bests in long jump 2.88m, javelin 13.71 and 800m 3:12:90s;
U10 Xavier Stewart: Personal bests in 400m 1:17:56, long jump 3.78m and equalling his personal best in high jump with a jump of 1.15m, won a silver medal in 70m 11:32s, silver in discus with a throw of 21.22m, silver in 200m 32:92s, silver in 100m 15:26s and gold in high jump;
U11 Jake Darnell: Personal bests in 80m hurdles 18:59s and 800m in a time of 3:29:60s;
U11 Callum Eatts: Personal bests in javelin with a throw of 13.49m, 80m hurdles 19:21s, triple jump 5.26m and long jump 2.54m;
U11 Oliver Stewart: Personal bests in 400m 1:21:57s, 100m 15:98s equalling high jump with a jump of 1.05m, won a silver medal in 1500m in a time of 6:12:98s;
U12 Gemma Buckle: Personal bests in 1500m walk 9:53:53s, 80m hurdles 15:82s and discus with a throw of 26.59m, won gold in the walk, bronze in 80m hurdles, gold in shot put with a throw of 8.60m, gold in javelin with a throw of 26.84m and gold in discus;
U12 Logan Gregory: won gold in the 1500m walk in a time of 9:44:63s and silver in shot put with a throw of 6.46m;
U12 Noah Stewart: Peronal bests in 400m 1:13:73s, 200m 30:83s and triple jump with a jump of 8.67m, won bronze in the 400m, bronze in 200m, silver in high jump with a jump of 1.20m, silver in 100m 14:81s and gold in triple jump.
What a fantastic effort from all; well done.
On January 25 Under 14 Noah Carter was the sole competitor from Collie to travel to Belmont and participate in their annual 1500m invitational event.
Noah run well in a competitive group of 33 athletes from the U14-U17 age groups, placing 17th overall and third in his age group. High jump, 200m and shot put events were also offered. He gained a new PB in shot put with a throw of 6.61m.
A reminder that we start back our competition this Friday, January 31 at 4.30pm for a 5pm start. February 5 training will be a catch up competition so please come at 4.30 for 5pm start.
