The Australind Swimming Club has secured a spot in the A Grade competition after winning the pennant for the first time in almost a decade at the state's largest regional swim meet.
Twenty-eight members of the club travelled to Geraldton for The SunSmart Country Pennants, taking to the water with more than 570 swimmers from 31 clubs with the sole focus of winning the B Grade Pennant and returning to A Grade ahead of next year's competition.
Among Australind's top scoring swimmers were nine-year-old Jay Pfoeffer, 20-year-old Lachlan Jamieson and 13-year-old Zara Moroney - all contributing 36 points each.
The points helped the club to secure the pennant for the first time since 2011, as well as winning the relay trophy and the March Past for the first time.
Swimmers honoured local firefighters in the March Past event by donning specially designed the costumes and props - an idea by club captain Yana Guretti.
Club president Jason Ridings said it was the best pennants competition he had been to and commended clubs coaches Taarna Cam, Mike Warnock, Dave Larkman and Shane Jamieson for their tireless efforts in the lead up to and over the course of the weekend.
"The coaches volunteer their time to help the swimmers achieve their best and the club could not have achieved such outstanding results without their dedication," he said.
