Police and state government representatives have praised the Western Australian community for abiding by social distancing guidelines and intrastate travel restrictions.
South-West Police were out in force over the Easter long weekend, targeting those breaking - or attempting to break - the law by crossing over regional boundaries.
With help from state and local government representatives, police also monitored many of the region's public gathering areas (parks, beaches etc.).
Speaking to the Mail, South-West District Superintendent Geoff Stewart said they recorded "very few" cases of ill-advised behaviour.
"The overall pedestrian/vehicle volumes in the district have been very low, particularly over the past week," he said.
"We've even seen traffic volumes in some areas decrease by more than 80 per cent. There aren't a lot cars out on the road.
"Many people in the South-West are doing their bit to support the state and the nation in flattening the curve.
"The community are standing up and doing the right thing, which gives me a lot of confidence going forward."
Superintendent Stewart said police were still on the lookout for those travelling to and from the South-West illegally.
"A very low number of people have been turned away at the checkpoint. The majority of those who are currently travelling have exemptions," he said.
"However, I've got no doubt that there are still some people in the region who shouldn't be here. If we come across them, we will take appropriate actions."
Bunbury MLA Don Punch said he was impressed by the levels of "co-operation and good-will" exhibited by the South-West community.
"The vast majority of people seem to be doing the right thing," he said.
"I would like to congratulate everyone in the South-West and WA on what they have been able to achieve.
"I would like to thank the police for their efforts in assisting people across the state. They are helping us to manage the spread of the virus."
Superintendent Stewart and Mr Punch gave thanks to the health care workers, local governments, Department of Biodiversity, Conservation, and Attractions, and Department of Fire and Emergency Services for their assistance.
