A push to get more Perth visitors to Bunbury has begun with the launch of a new tourism campaign on November 6.
Australia's South West, South West Development Commission and Bunbury MLA Don Punch gathered at the Dolphin Discovery Centre to make the announcement.
The campaign 'Found in Bunbury' will see digital, television and billboard advertising across Perth highlighting what is special about the regional city.
Mr Punch said the campaign started just before it turned summer to catch people planning what to do over the holidays in the hope to draw them to Bunbury.
"We know Bunbury is a very special place, talking to businesses who say people are coming here and finding how much Bunbury has changed," he said.
"So it is about taking that back to the Perth market and opening up the secret of Bunbury."
Australia's South West chief executive Catrin Allsop said anecdotally they had seen a big increase in visitation numbers to Bunbury and South West through the state government's Wonder Out Yonder campaign.
Development commission chief executive officer Mellisa Teede said there was more to do in Bunbury than ever before.
"This marketing push will help to raise awareness of what the city has to offer visitors seeking a weekend getaway or holiday destination," she said.
Mr Punch said the $70,000 campaign would include giveaways and celebrity social media events.
