THE Bunbury Barbarians Junior Rugby Club had a ball recently with Western Force Rugby Team players Jackson Pugh and Michael 'Macca' McDonald.
During the club's training on Thursday April 22, both Pugh and McDonald took part in various training sessions for the under six, eight, ten and 12's teams.
Bunbury Barbarians Junior Rugby Club President Chris O'Malley said the support of the Western Force was essential to growing rugby in Western Australia.
"Rugby is ignored to a point in the South West, footy is a lot more popular. Having the boys here is motivation for these kids and to stop numbers from dwindling," Mr O'Malley said.
Despite nursing injuries, both McDonald and Pugh said the opportunity to come to the club was a great way to promote rugby and engage with the players.
"This is my first time down to Bunbury. Everyone has been so friendly and they've all come up and introduced themselves to me," Mr McDonald said.
The club who train at Leschenault Leisure Centre, will host the Bunbury Bulls, the Margaret River Gropers and the Busselton Beatles for a rugby competition later in the year.
