Most property buyers avoid buying under a flight path, but in this pocket of rural Victoria proximity to the runway is a sought after feature.
You'd be hard pressed to get any closer to an airport than this listing at 40 John Duigan Drive at the Yarrawonga Aerodrome, with direct access to the taxiway from the front door.
Currently home to a flying school, the freehold property, which has a price tag of $859,000 has includes a three-bedroom family and room for six light planes or a small jet.
On the market with First National O'Meara Kennedy Real Estate - Yarrawonga, the listing has been popular with those seeking a base for their commercial flying operations as well a hobby flyers seeking a holiday home with a difference according to listing agent Jan Marshall.
"It's ideally set up if people don't want to use it as a flying school, anyone with their own planes could fly in. With the Lake Mulwala nearby, Yarrawonga is a great tourist destination," Ms Marshall said.
The 788 square metre property currently consists of the aircraft hangar, with upstairs home, open reception and training room facility, and an additional self-contained pilot's accommodation.
According to Moria Shire Council, the Yarrawonga Aerodrome is situated five minutes from Yarrawonga township.
Yarranwonga, population 7,930, is located on the south side of the Murray River at the border of Victoria and NSW. It's around 95 kilometres west of Wodonga.
Other than the flying school it is a popular destination for joy flights and agricultural flights, according to Ms Marshall.
There are four other hangars with accommodation in the facility, but Ms Marshall said it was rare to find similar facilities in other parts of Australia.
"Apparently that's quite a unique thing to have a home in a hangar apparently very popular in the united states but not so common in Australia," she said.
While you can hear passing planes from inside, Ms Marshall said the home was surprising quiet.
"When you're in there [the home] you hear very little noise, obviously there are aircraft going past but because it's a relaxed airport it's not all the time," she said.
The flight time from Yarrawonga to Melbourne is around 1.5 hours and Ms Marshall said there'd been offers from buyers in Queensland, regional NSW and South Australia.
