THREE, heartwarming poppy displays will take over Dardanup, Burekup and Eaton next month as a visual reminder of those who fell during World War I.
As organised by the Shire of Dardanup to help commemorate Remembrance Day for 2021, community members are now being sought to knit, crochet or stitch handmade poppies to be featured on each display.
Opportunities were available to the community this month to enjoy poppy-making sessions provided by the Shire, along with free poppy supply packs and patterns.
Eaton residents Grace and Sam Harman said they were keen to be involved with the project despite having only "basic knowledge" of crochet.
"It's just nice to be able to give back to the community and help everyone remember what Remembrance Day is all about."

"We just thought it was a beautiful idea so we wanted to contribute," Sam said.
"There was a crochet session at the Eaton Library we went to which was run by the RSL ladies from Perth. It's helped us get a lot better.

In 2020, the Shire of Dardanup featured a poppy display in it's offices that was highly supported by the community.
Shire president Mick Bennett said the support reinforced just how significant an activity like creating knitted or crocheted poppies was.
"Not just for our seniors but for our community members of all ages," Cr Bennett said.
"So we got creative and decided to expand on the idea and as a result, we are looking forward to providing a wider section of the community with an eye-catching, visual reminder of what Remembrance Day is all about."
So far, multiple community members including students from River Valley Primary School have supplied poppies for the installation.
If you are interested, drop your poppies in at the Administration Centre in Eaton, the Eaton Community Library or the Shire of Dardanup Office before 4.30pm on November 3.
