The WA Labor party has announced Bronwen English will contest the federal division of Forrest in the next federal election.
Ms English has lived in regional WA since she was ten years old and said she was proud to call the South West home and was passionate about standing up for regional communities.
"I have put my hand up as the Candidate for Forrest because I know that an Albanese Labor government will be the partner WA needs in Canberra," she said.
"I will always stand up for regional families like mine."
Throughout Ms English's career she has worked across a wide range of fields, a fact she believed would help her to understand different struggles the community experiences - including the importance of access to education and employment.
"Having worked as a dental nurse, education assistant, aged carer, early childhood educator and youth worker across country WA, I am passionate about delivering secure jobs, quality healthcare and great education for our region."
Forrest has a 14.5 per cent Liberal margin following the 2021 Australian Electoral Commission redistribution and the seat has been held by Nola Marino since 2007.
