LABOUR FORCE DATA FOR APRIL
* Unemployment rate - 3.9 per cent, unchanged from a revised March result
* Underemployment rate (employed people seeking additional work) - 6.1 per cent versus 6.3 per cent
* Employment - rose by 4000
* Full-time positions - rose by 92,400
* Part-time employment - rose by 88,400
* Participation rate (people working or looking for work) - 66.3 per cent versus 66.4 per cent in March
* Monthly hours worked in all jobs - rose by 1.3 per cent or 50 million hours
STATE UNEMPLOYMENT RATES:
NSW - 3.5 per cent in April versus 3.9 per cent in March
VIC - 4.2 per cent versus 4.1 per cent
QLD - 4.5 per cent versus 4.0 per cent
SA - 4.5 per cent versus 4.9 per cent
WA - 2.9 per cent versus 3.4 per cent
TAS - 3.8 per cent versus 4.5 per cent
NT - 4.1 per cent versus 4.0 per cent
ACT - 3.1 per cent versus 3.4 per cent
