Police are investigating the death of a young girl struck by a four-wheel drive in a Sydney cul-de-sac.

Paramedics called to the scene in Toongabbie about 5.20pm on Friday were unable to save the one-year-old, police said.
A section of Edna Avenue has been cordoned off and declared a crime scene.
Footage of the street showed a black four-wheel drive inside the taped area.
Police inquiries continue.
