An image of a classic Australian car could hold the key to cracking the cold case of a Wollongong mother who vanished more than 30 years ago.

Pauline Sowry, also known as Pauline Lawrence, was last seen by her family in the northern suburbs of Wollongong, south of Sydney, in December 1993.
A 2008 coronial inquest found Ms Sowry likely died after an unconfirmed sighting in 1994, and authorities in March announced a $500,000 reward for information on the unsolved case.
Following the appeal detectives were told that the 49-year-old had been seen south of Wollongong in a white 1968 Holden HK Kingswood sedan, said to be in "pristine" condition, NSW Police said on Monday.
Investigators released a photograph of a similar car in the hope of tracking down more information that could lead to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for Ms Sowry's disappearance or death.
They believe people in the community know what happened to the much-loved mother.
Ms Sowry's son Jason Lawrence said in March the family was still searching for answers three decades later.
"There is a lot of happy memories that she has missed in the last 30 years and we want to bring her home, or know what happened to her," he said.
Police previously said they hoped people's circumstances had changed over time and those with information about Ms Sowry's disappearance would now be in a position to come forward with crucial evidence.
