SOUTH WEST Detectives have charged a 42 year old man and a 43 year old man with armed robbery offences over a number of incidents in Bunbury on Saturday afternoon.
It will be alleged that the first occurred at about 12.45pm at the Parks Centre Shopping Centre in Carey Park.
Both men arrived there in a vehicle with the 43 year old man exiting the car and demanding money from an 80 year old woman who was using a nearby ATM.
During the incident the man showed the woman that he was armed with a loaded firearm.
He was given an amount of cash before both left the area.
The men then travelled to an ATM on Sandridge Road in East Bunbury with the 43 year old man approaching an 81 year old woman who was using the ATM.
He demanded money from the victim while showing her that he was armed.
The victim refused to give him money and the two men departed the area.
At around 1.25pm, the two travelled to a liquor store on Old Coast Road in Eaton.
The 43 year old man entered the store while his 42 year old associate stayed in the car.
The man approached the counter and demanded money from the female attendant while showing the firearm.
He was given an amount of cash before he left the store with both men then driving away from the area.
A short time later, police responding to these incidents, saw the vehicle travelling along the Australind Bypass.
In an attempt to flee into bushland, the vehicle lost control and flipped, coming to rest on its roof.
The two were apprehended at the scene.
A firearm and cash was seized from the vehicle.
A 43 year old Carey Park man and a 42 year old Harvey man have each been charged with two counts of aggravated armed robbery and one count of attempted aggravated armed robbery.
They will appear in the Bunbury Magistrates Court on May 19.
