Cody Thomas Heron, 28, attended Bunbury Magistrates Court on Thursday, July 26 charged with breaching bail conditions, giving false personal details to police, and two counts of driving with a suspended licence.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Barry Phelps told the court Heron was stopped on Foy Street, Esperance on June 15, 2017.
After providing a false name and date of birth to police, he led the officers to his home in an attempt to stall.
Thirty minutes later, police charged him with providing false details.
Police found his licence had been disqualified in October 2015.
On February 16, 2018, Heron was seen driving a children’s motorcycle in Glen Iris.
Heron then failed to attend court on May 14.
His lawyer, Paul Chapman, said Heron had come back from a funeral and was compelled to take the motorcycle to visit a friend.
Magistrate Evan Shackleton granted a 12-month suspended sentence, a licence disqualification, and a $500 fine.
